Northbrook Baptist Church was established in the Northbrook residential area of Cedar Rapids in 1978 to minister to the growing population of northeast Cedar Rapids, Robins, Hiawatha, Marion, and the surrounding area. In 1986 a permanent building at the present location was built. In the 1990′s the church had outgrown its sanctuary and a second Sunday morning worship service was started. In 2002 we were blessed with a new multipurpose building and returned to one Sunday morning worship service. In June of 2006 we called Eric Schumacher as our senior pastor.In September of 2010, we transitioned to a system of church government in which (while remaining congregational) we are led by multiple elders, some staff and some non-staff.
