Northbrook Elders

Eric SchumacherEric Schumacher, Staff – Pastor for Preaching and Vision

In June of 2006, Northbrook called Eric Schumacher. We are grateful to God for his commitment to putting our focus on Christ and Christ’s glory by carefully explaining and applying God’s Word. Pastor Schumacher and his family have blessed our church in many ways.

Eric married Jenny in 1998, and they have five children. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in general communications and minoring in religion. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He was formerly pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Keokuk, Iowa. Eric composes hymns at Reformed Praise and blogs at An Infant in a Cradle.

Joshua Krohse

Joshua served as a full-time staff pastor at Northbrook from 2005-2011.  He has been married to his wife Angela since 1999, and they have six children: Zachary, Emily, Elijah, Abigail, Kaitlyn, and Natalie. He has a Bachelor of Arts Religion degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. In addition to his many useful talents, he is good at origami.

He currently serves as a non-staff elder.

Jon Bunjer

Jonathan, one of our first two non-staff elders, was approved by the congregation September 26, 2010. He attended Faith Baptist Bible College and received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, with a minor in Greek. After graduating in 2007, Jonathan married Sarah and they have one child, Aaron, born in 2011.

Jonathan was drawn to the Christ-exalting, biblically-driven vision and teaching of Northbrook, and he and Sarah joined the church in the summer of 2009. Jonathan has enjoyed teaching Sunday school, participating in the music ministry, and occasionally preaching. He has been working with children facing various mental and behavioral health challenges at a counseling agency since 2009. Besides working and being involved at Northbrook, Jonathan loves to spend time with his family, read, and play and watch sports, especially soccer.
