ENTRUST 2012 – Preach the Word!

Cost: Free to Northbrook Members (or those actively pursuing membership) / $35 for non-members
Purpose and Overview: This unit of ENTRUST is designed to equip men to research, prepare and deliver a sermon. (While the class will focus on the sermon format, it will be broadly useful for preparing to teach Sunday School, Bible Studies, devotions, etc.) Students will receive instruction from our elders on how to prepare a sermon (or other teaching presentation). This will include lecture, discussion, reading a book, and preparing and delivering one short sermon. Over the course of the semester, students will also complete the Doctrinal Questions from the Northbrook Elder Examination material.
Audience: Any and all men who are interested in learning to study and teach the Bible.
Prerequisites: None. However, a basic understanding of Bible and theology will be assumed.
Dates: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, February-July 2012, 7-9 PM / (Feb 7, 21; Mar 6, 20; Apr 3, 17; May 1, 15; Jun 5, 19; Jul 3, 17)

Assignments Each student will present one 25-minute sermon during the course. Each week students will be assigned:
- Reading 1 chapter from Chapell
- Questions from the Elder Examination material
